On December 20, 2009, a blizzard hit Nantucket Island.

Over the course of the day, the island was blanketed

in a thick covering of snow.

We went to Low Beach on the southeastern shore of

Nantucket to photograph the storm.

The combination of howling wind, roaring ocean

and thick snowfall created a new world.
