Sharon —- wow! Love the first one! You caught the frenzy! The wave even splits in two!

The forth picture is a beauty, the sky seems to mimic the gentle roll of the surf… (ha, we know better, that surf was rolling in like thunder)!

Joy — a good title for the series — and the birds gave you a little company while you were braving the cold for a change!

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks Chris!

The birds have seemed to be enjoying the sunny, if freezing days and the surf. There were tons of gulls, ducks and pipers and I do enjoy watching them.

It is such a pleasure to look through your beautiful ocean scenes throughout your site. In many ways, I feel like I’ve “come home” even though I know these were taken on the other side of the US (from California). Thank you for your inspiration.

Inviting images Sharon. Reminds me of SoCal…except the water temp :)

Thanks, Tim. It looks warmer than it was. :) The night I took the bird shot, it was about 19 degrees when I left the beach. My fingers got very cold.

Sharon, that first one is a dream, nothing less. How do you do this? A stroke of luck?

Thanks, Ciel. Mostly it is just being there and being observant. Luck does help. :)

Great catch on the first one, with the crest of the breaking wave so luminous. Love the last one too, for the immensity of the seascape.
Great light and colors on all of them. Nice set!

Hi Sharon,
Wow, you have a great talent. I like the first one in this post and both in the Dec. 13 post. I think my dad (landscape photographer Philip Hyde) would appreciate your work too, if he were still around. Best wishes, David
