The Hour

Some leaves underwater with reflections from Squam Swamp. If you look, you can see the word “hour” spelled in the reflection of the crook of the tree.

Wow, I like this one a lot, very different from your other work. I am not religious but believe in God and particularly the God that is in all things and in nature. Once when I was visiting Rome I was with a young lady who wanted to see the Pope. St. Peter’s square was filled with silent people waiting and it was raining. Pope John Paul appeared and the crowd clapped and cheered. He began in latin, “Preparo, preparo, hora est procul manus manus,” that is, “Prepare, prepare, the hour is at hand.” As he said it, no joke a huge opening gaped in the clouds and the sun burst through. It was quite an experience.

Oh, that is a wonderful story, David. I have been listening to Dottie Rambo’s beautiful hymn “We Shall Behold Him” lately (sung by Sandi Patty). It starts -

The sky shall unfold
Preparing His entrance
The stars shall applaud Him
With thunders of praise

Maybe you got a glimpse of that.

Great Photography. You must have a good eye to see such a beautiful shot in a swamp.

Martie, it looks like a word on a Jimi Hendrix poster. :-)

Thank you, Benz. I appreciate that.

This is lovely, but what is really cool to me is the shaded reflection of the tree trunk and branches. Adds an incredible element of depth to the image.
Well done, Sharon.
