Thank you, Ciel. Dirck’s photograph of a juvenile hawk is one of my favorites of all our work.

Two wonderful pictures for today. The colors of the sea and the light are beautiful in the second capture; and the BW for the hawk is well contrasted. Great work for the both captures.
Have a nice day.

Sweet shot, Dirck! Terrific close-up!
I love the surf shot, Sharon. Wonderful clarity and real color, and I can smell the sea from here!

Thanks, Barry. There are seals in the water that you can see in the larger version. Getting shots of the pipers is hard for me as they are so quick! I stood on this beach in January this year during a driving snow storm…just me and hundreds of pipers. It was a wonderful experience.

The opening was tonight and both pieces sold immediately. We are so happy as it benefits a great organization.

Thanks to the folks who bought the work.

I just realized that I had posted my picture with the wrong color profile. I have put the correct shot up now. :-)

Great bird photographs both. Sharon, I like how you somehow caught all of the gulls essentially in the same position, going the same way. I suppose they were running away from that churning wave coming at them.

Thanks, David! Those little birds are sand pipers. They feast along the shoreline – running towards the surf as it recedes, eating all the little tidbits left by the ocean. Then as the surf comes back in, they run away from it. So they ebb and flow like the ocean does as they eat. I love to watch them although they are so quick, it makes it tricky photographing them.

Thanks, Barry! I may never have another opportunity like that one. The hawk was too young to know that it should have kept more distance.

Red-Tails are fairly easy to photograph. I grabbed a shot of one while he was resting on an electric wire on the Hummock Pond Road a few years ago. I was able to get directly underneath him without spooking him.
