Yesterday we had snow and today we have sunny skies. Spring must be coming.

More on Sconset Bluff Erosion

We have been on the bluff the last couple of nights as another storm has created coastal flooding. There is more evidence of damage as fresh dirt slides are obvious along the bluff. It is becoming increasingly unsafe from the area north of the end of the bluff walk. The top of the bluff is undercut severely in spots.

These pictures were taken hand held in high winds and driving snow/rain so the image quality is not the best. Click on the pictures to see a larger version.

Sometimes, the light is different than you expect it to be. This sky began unfolding when I was further down the bluff. I quickly packed my gear and ran to Sankaty in time to catch this amazing sunset.

Wave Storm

I went out on Tuesday, the 26th, and the winds made for a humbling trip as it took all my strength to stay standing. There were large waves as far as I could see. The horizon was lined with breakers and the sound was incredible. ~ Sharon
